Fight Meadow Chalet Rental
Summer Rental Program
Although Wells Gray Adventures encourages people to take advantage of knowledgeable naturalist guides, and fully catered trips, for groups who are willing to follow our environmental protocol at the cabins, we offer limited dates for a self-guided option at our Fight Meadow Chalet.
Fight Meadow Chalet is at 6300 feet ( 1900 meters) at the end of Fight Meadow and at the foot of 52 Ridge and Battle Mountain. To hike a loop back to your vehicle you must start at the Battle Access Trailhead. The Battle Access Trailhead is about 2300 feet or 710 m in elevation. You hike through the forest on a steady, but not too steep uphill on a narrow old road for 6 km. At the end of this road, there is a trail that will take you about 45 minutes and eight switchbacks to reach Philip Lake. From Philip Lake to the Fight Meadow Cabin is about 3-hour hike. Groups must be equipped with backcountry safety gear (inReach or similar, radio, first aid, etc.) and will be asked to sign waivers and a care agreement before departing.
Rental Rates for Fight Meadow Cabin
A minimum of two nights and a nightly fee of 625/night. This amount applies to up to eight people maximum. Due to wildlife and environmental concerns (the flower meadows are highly impacted by tents and foot traffic), and wildlife, there will be no camping or sleeping outside of the chalet. Extra charges will apply for extra people. Fight Meadow Chalet has a maximum of 11 people.
There will be $275.00 surcharge on top of the nightly fee to cover administrative and maintenance costs of checking on the buildings (we have to hike in too.)
You will be required to sign a rental agreement before hiking into the cabin.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
It should be noted that the trail-head access to Fight Meadow is for HIGH CLEARANCE, FOUR-WHEEL DRIVES ONLY. If you do not have an appropriate vehicle or experience with backcountry travel, cabins, or navigation, we recommend your considering a guided trip to Fight Meadow instead. We guide and cater customized longer stays in this area for groups that are interested in a more relaxing outdoor adventure that emphasizes natural history and photography.
