Hike for the Cure

Wells Gray Adventures is honored to support Hike for the Cure, a fundraising event by well-known outdoorsman Frank Ritcey and his team of adventurers hiking to support cancer research into our Fight Meadow Hut in the alpine of Wells Gray Park.

Frank Ritcey has been a passionate outdoorsman since childhood, when he would venture into the wilds of Wells Gray Park with his father, a wildlife biologist, and his mother, who taught him to forage for edible treasures like black huckleberries. Growing up immersed in nature on the lands of the Simpcw and Tsq’escen’, Frank developed a deep connection to the outdoors that continues to shape his life. Now, as Frank navigates a battle with metastatic prostate cancer, hiking has become more than a passion—it’s a source of therapy, strength, and healing. Diagnosed in 2024, Frank has chosen to channel his energy into promoting the healing power of nature while raising awareness and funds for the fight against this disease.

Through Hike for the Cure, Frank invites others to join him by contributing to an important cause. With every dollar raised, he hopes to bring us closer to a permanent solution to this disease. Learn more and donate here: https://fundraisemyway.cancer.ca/participant/WellsGrayAdventures
