Winter Access Information
Transportation
To get into Trophy Cabin your group can get a sno-cat ride 14 km. and 3200’ to the trailhead. The cost of the cat is $400 per trip. The cat will get your group within a 2-4 hour skiing distance of the cabin. The elevation gain is 1700 feet over 4 km from the trailhead to Trophy Chalet. You can get a snowmobile assisted transfer to help with packs or snowboarders out of Trophy for $175.
Helicopter -
The helicopter is a Long Ranger and takes 4 people and gear. You can fly into any cabin. You must fly into Discovery and Fight, as they are too far to reach by skiing. It is possible to ski out of both cabins but this may be arranged only after speaking with us. The ski out can be a long one and involves what can be tricky route finding. Even if you are flying out, you should pack as though you may ski out. Do not pack multiple skis/boots etc. On the flight you can bring two fruit or liquor boxes of food per person, your backpack, and your ski equipment. Weight limit in the chopper is 1100 lb or 275 lbs per person. We advise people to weigh themselves, their ski gear and food and mark down the weights. Write the weight on all of the boxes that are flying and then it is easier to pack the chopper.

Two Flights (8 people) - $230/person or $920/flight
Three Flights (12 people) - $200/person or $800/flight
Dovetail – if you are flying in and another group is flying out at the same time – there is a 25% discount.
Gear Flights or Single Flights. With less than two flights the ferry time has to be compensated. For this reason a single flight with gear, food or people flies by the hour and MAY cost more than the contract rate. It is usually a .6hr which is
$1000 + HST.
Ski times for Trophy and Discovery Cabins for the winter of 2011/12. Remember that you do not need to book a full week as four nights is our minimum booking time.
